This project was the largest collaboration I have participated in. My friend assembled a team of 10 people to create a 2-minute animation based on her original plot, which serves as the pilot episode of a planned animation series. The team members worked on scriptwriting, composing music, voicing characters, and creating the stop-motion segments.
My role included storyboarding the script and animating the 2D opening and closing scenes. I created an animatic to guide the stop-motion team and animated character actions, backgrounds, and effects like flying glass shards. I also handled lip-syncing, coloring, and 3D assembly. To enhance the animation, I set camera keys to create an amateur filming effect. This project was a significant learning experience in teamwork and collaboration.
Managing tasks across time zones, as most of the team lived in the US, required strong communication and organization. I gained valuable experience in troubleshooting, coordinating roles, and exploring mixed-media animation formats. We are planning on developing the series further.
